Silly Mutant Critters in Speedos – Fun with Ojamas!

When I ordered that box of 1000 Yu Gi Oh cards for 20 bucks, I discovered that it included tons of Ojama cards. When I first came across those three absolutely ridiculous looking guys…

Ojamas

…I was quite amused by their silly looks but did not pay them any further attention. One day though, when I was looking through my 1000 cards box again in search for new deck ideas, I thought there must be a way to make a half-decent deck on the cheap with those guys. I figured it would be a ton of fun if you’d actually beat your opponent playing a dead-serious, powered-up-to-the-max deck with a bunch of ridiculous, speedo-wearing mutant Beasts! So I set myself a challenge yet again: Building a competitive (competitive in our casual context that is) Ojama Deck. This card is what finally had convinced me to do this:

Destroying all cards on the opponent’s side of the field is just awesome. All I had to do now was building a deck which could reliably get Ojamas Green, Yellow and Black into play fast and a way to finish off the opponent after suffering total annihilation via Delta Hurricane.

So this is the deck I came up with:

Ojamayhem:

Monsters…17

3 x Ojama Green

3 x Ojama Yellow

3 x Ojama Black

3 x Ojama Blue

3 x Ojama Red

2 x Rescue Cat

Spells…17

3 x Ojama Delta Hurricane!!

3 x Ojamagic

3 x Enchanting Fitting Room

3 x Ojama Country

1 x Terraforming

2 x Polymerisation

1 x Fusion Sage

1 x Hand Destruction

Traps…6

3 x Ojama Trio

3 x Backup Soldiers

Extra…3

3 x Ojama King

In general I can safely say that the above deck I have come up with is bound to annoy your opponent massively – plus you will be able to taunt them with your silly-as-hell, Ojamas weaklings 😀

The overall plan is to disrupt your opponent with Ojama Trio and Delta Hurricane and swinging in for the win with one or two Fusion Summoned Ojama King:

The key card leading you to victory with this deck is clearly Ojama Country…

…but let us first have a look at the different Monsters in the deck, which are all Ojamas with the exception of Rescue Cat. While Ojama Green, Yellow and Black are, by themselves, jsut 0 ATK / 1000 DEF Normal Monsters without any abilities at all. However they are needed to clear your opponent’s side of the field via Ojama Delta Hurricane !! and to Fusion Summon their liege Ojama King, which is going to be your “killer” in this deck. The two other Ojamas, Ojama Red and Ojama Blue are Effect Monsters with some very useful abilities in the Ojama context. But first let me explain the different ways to get the 3 Normal Ojamas into play as fast as possible:

Firslty, you got 3 copies of Ojamagic which lets you put one of each Ojama Green, Yellow and Black into your hand if it is discarded from hand or destroyed on the field. This is were Ojama Country comes into play. It lets you discard any Ojama Card from your hand to Special Summon one Ojama Monster from your Graveyard. So Ojama Country along with the odd single copy of Hand Destruction are your main ways of activating Ojamagic in order to put the three basic Ojamas from your deck into your hand. It should be noted that the various ways of deck thinning, for example through Ojamagic, are nothing to sneeze at. Besides Ojamagic, you got 3 copies of Enchanting Fitting Room. You really gotta press your luck on this one, as it lets you look at  the top 4 cards of your deck and put any level 3 or lower Monsters among the cards you picked up into play directly. Luckily, your Normal Ojamas are all Level 2, so depending on your luck you might get to Special Summon at least one or two of them via Fitting Room. Your most reliable way of getting the much-needed Normal Ojamas (which you may hold in your hand from a previously activated Ojamagic) into play is one of the two Effect Monster Ojamas – Ojama Red:

Just normal summon him, and he’ll let you Special Summon up to 4 (!) Ojamas to your side of the field! Quite amazing. Again I would like to point out the great synergy here with Ojamagic. What is more, his blue brother is ideal for pulling off that trick successfully:

Just use Ojama Blue as a blocker and have it destroyed or even run it into any opponent Monster kamikaze-style to search your deck for any Ojama card. Yes, any. Not only Ojama Monsters. The ideal picks, provided you have Ojama Country in play, would be Ojamagic to search for the 3 Normal Ojamas and Ojama Red to Special Summon them all at once, then activating Ojama Delta Hurricane!! and Fusion Summoning Ojama King, which will have its ATK and DEF switched due to Ojama Country and have an ATK of 3000. That should apply some pressure on your opponent! Lastly, Rescue Cat, the only non-Ojama Monster in the deck can conveniently be Tributed to Special Summon any two Level 3 or lower Beast Type Monsters from your deck to the field. Just grab the Ojamas you need most at the moment – the drawback that they are destroyed at end of turn should not really matter as you’d be using your Special Summoned Ojamas for some evil things like Ojama Delta Hurricane and/or Fusion Summoning Ojama King anyways.

Other notable cards in the deck are the Traps Ojama Trio and Backup Soldiers. Trio is a great way of slowing your opponent down early on by occupying their Monster Card Zone with 3 rather useless Ojama Tokens, which will considerably limit your opponent’s gameplay and attack capabilities. Regarding Backup Soldiers, I must say I have looked for a way to make decent use of this card for a long time and I think it has found a great home in my Ojamayhem Deck. Play it mid-to late game when you already have 5 or more Ojamas/Monsters in your Graveyard and restock your hand with up to 3 Ojamas of your choice, ready to be Special Summoned by notorious Ojama Red!

Overall I think this deck is not one of my strongest but it is unmatched in its pure silliness and fun!

Yet another deck one can assemble on the cheap! 😀

Hope you liked this article and found my Ojamayhem Deck somewhat interesting! Thanks for reading and

Game on!

Yours,

Andi

  1. Hello again! I love ojamas cos of the anime and here are some cards which to helps the deck.

These are cards i use in my deck by the way

    Honest
Good for a surprise since ojamas are light

    armored white bear
can easily search out ojama blue

    snipe hunter
use this with ojamagic and ojamas for ammo

    sangan
Search out almost anything in the deck

    Elemental hero woodsman
Search out polymerization from your deck/ graveyard.. With ojama country, this guy would have 2000 attack!

    Ojama Knight (extra deck)
Use any 2 ojamas instead of just yellow/green/black

    Future Fusion
Easily send yellow/green/black to the graveyard for set up for tri wight

    Tri wight
Since your ojamas are sent to the graveyard easily w snipe hunter / future fusion, this brings them up back for a delta hurricane or polymerisation

    Instant Fusion
Special summon out ojama knight from your extra deck and send him to the graveyard.. abuse him by bringing him out from the graveyard wih ojama country

    White elephant gift
Send an ojama you dont need to the graveyard for more draw power

    Creature swap
“give me your monster and you can take my 0 atk ojama in atk position” good for combo when you give him ojama blue, ram it with their monster and search your deck

  2. Well, here are some suggestions

Ojama yellow/green/black/red – reduce them to 2 each
they are pretty much a dead draw if you draw them. you would want to grab them by ojamagic/blue

Ojamagic/delta hurricane- reduce to 2 each
delta hurricane is very situational. ojamagic can be a dead draw if you have ojamas of the same name in the graveyard

Enchanting fitting room – get rid of it
normal ojamas on the field are not too good alone. furthermore, it would be easier
to bring them out from the graveyard w tri wight

backup soldiers – replace this with pot of avarice
bring back the normal ojamas to your deck should you have an ojamagic in hand to use it. furthermore, it is a spell so you would not need to set it before using it.

if you really want to use rescue cat, i would suggest adding x saber-wolverine guy[i forgot his name. i think its airbellum or something 1600 atk L3 tuner] and add in some synchros to your extra deck.

Also can consider adding a gachi gachi to your extra deck too.. rank 2 xyz monster who has 2200 attack if you have ojama country in play w an ojama. also boosts attack by 200 for each monster under him.

You can reduce ojama trio to none or 1 too .. its pretty situational. enemy can take advantage of the tokens on his side of the field for ritual/synchro summons.

    • Thanks! The tips are much appreciated. My Ojama deck is fun (and also quite powerful) to play as it is but i will definitely consider changing it according to your invaluable advice Wayne!! 😀
